I never realized how much one has to think about when they are going on an international trip, and England specifically. I already had my passport so no problem, but now we have...plug converter, money exchange, emergency contact numbers, international phone card, thermals, etc.... Luckily I found a really GORGEOUS black wool coat from Burlington Coat Factory the other day to keep me nice and toasty keeping in mind how cold England is this time of year. Its not waterproof though so now I think I'm going to have to get a little water poncho just to keep it try from getting wet, argh. Not exactly a great fashion statement but oh well!
I've been consulting with family and friends who have been overseas just for tips of anything else I should know, or places they would recommend I see. I'm also touring the countryside, like Manchester (where my bf is from), the Lake District hopefully, etc... We'll see I guess. I don't care where we go really, I'll just be glad to be there! Here's some stuff I definitely want to see....

AND IN THE BEAUTIFUL COUNTRYSIDE.....

And AMAZING CASTLES....

Doesn't get any better than this ey? Not sure if will see all these places but a girl can dream! Anyone who has been to England have any other must-see recommends before I leave? Please let me know if you do! I will be taking plenty of photos! Hope all is well with all my blogging pals! Let me know how ya are!

I hope you have an amazing time!
And that picture you used at the top, Rychelle gave my friend that poster, who did a study abroad tour in London years ago. She loves it!
I miss your blog posts!
you are going to have SO MUCH FUN!
i'm a tiny bit jealous. ;)
(and, i was going to tell you i just bought that poster for a friend, but kp beat me to it.)
enjoy!
I am so jealous! My friend Connie is there until April, the lucky girl, on a college scholarship thingy, and she runs in Hyde Park every day, and has been to Portobello Road, seen dozens of Cathedrals, Stonehenge, etc. She has seen the tomb of her fave author, Jane Austen and been to the landmarks of that latest Pride & Prejudice movie. Even the small places she has discovered sound SO cool...and here I sit in CT...ew.
Have a fantastic time, girl, it's going to be AMAZING! A few travel tips:
-A money exchange service will charge you, but you can use your American credit & debit cards here, too, so you don't need a ton of cash. Carry some change for phone calls, and if you go to any farmers/outdoor markets, they will usually only take cash.
-Get on local time ASAP - resist the urge to nap your first few days there. It will help with jetlag!
-Definitely find some charity shops to check out. They're super fun!
-Brits are very, very quiet on public transport - you won't realize how loud you talk till you ride the Tube!
-Say 'please' and 'thank-you' a lot more than you think is normal. Trust me on this.
-Email me at ukyankoz@gmail.com if you have any other questions! And if you're not too busy, stop by Bristol while you're in Bath and we'll meet up!
Jess, I miss you! I need more posts!
