Well, this past week has been quite a juggling act. I've been driving constantly; back and forth from work, (meetings, appointments, door to door sales) made two trips to the airport to pick up some friends from Colorado, had two emergency dental visits to save a tooth that broke on Wednesday (pretty traumatic let me tell you) and had one AWESOME day on a movie set with Gerard Butler (of "300" and "P.S. I Love You" fame). Lol, talk about a busy week, some good events, some experiences downright stressful). Monday I was scheduled as an extra on the film "The Ugly Truth" with Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl. So much fun. That's one thing I love about Los Angeles, you can see how films/tv shows are made from behind the scenes as an extra. I got to hang out on set with Gerard/Katherine/the crew the entire day and got paid (okay, so $68 + overtime isn't that great, but the memory sure was worth it, haha) Filming took place at the Union Station in downtown L.A. There's a restaurant/Latin nightclub in there and I was supposed to be a Salsa club patron. It was a fun day. I was feeling a little under the weather some of it but for the most part I really enjoyed my time. Mr. Butler is a really down to earth guy, very friendly to everyone and rather handsome and charismatic.
As for the other events of the week, my back tooth was saved after 4 hours at the dentist/in the dental chair and three strategically placed metal posts were put into the roots of my tooth to basically reconstruct it again. All of this happening while I'm busy working a new sales job and my friends from Colorado have flown in (on a trip planned months ago) Who would have thought I'd be in such a dire situation but I'm praying things improve.
Well, I better head to bed as I have to drop one of my friends off at the airport in the morning. YAY, more driving, lol!

Thanks for sharing your (mostly) fun day! Don't we all suffer for our art! I met Gerry a few times, + he always strikes me as a real down to earth and lots of fun, if sometimes intense, guy. He's VERY loyal to his friends, and who can resist that engaging smile and Scottish charm? That's a purely rhetorical question... Did you get a sense of how the movie was turning out? Hope your tooth is feeling better and you continue to enjoy LA!

Did you meet the G-man!
so jealous you saw the HOTT Gerard Butler- sounds like you're as fabulous as ever dearest Jess! Hanging with the celebs--wouldn't want it any other way :) miss you girlie...
The movie looks really cute. It was Katherine's last day of filming but it looked like they had chemistry onscreen. I'm looking forward to seeing the film and hopefully spotting myself. We filmed for 12 hours so it would be well worth it!
Hey Jess-- Sounds like things are busy for you this week! Sorry to hear about your dental woes. Yuck! Thanks for checking in on my blog earlier today: there's also a great picture of you as a baby- your toothless baby grin just melts my heart! So even if you lose all of your teeth, you'll still be gorgeous! I've gotta nab that pic from Dad and scan it for you. Love ya!

Jess,
I have to confess, I rented "P.S. I Love You" (of my own free will, without duress)and really liked it. Butler has become one of my favorite actors and was actually my inspiration to start working out again (I've lost 30 lbs of fat since I watched my edited version of 300!) Just thought I'd share in the reverie.
