Yes, it's true. I can finally say I've walked the Red Carpet. And when and where did said experience happen? It happened last night at the Hyatt Hotel Resort & Spa. The event was a premiere at the Cinema City International Film Festival. My publicist Deb invited me, my sister and my mother. What an event! I was told I was going to walk the red carpet to get some press (talk about feeling nervous). There was about 10 photographers and you stand in front of each one, they talk with you, take photos of you, tell you to show off your dress, ask questions, etc... It really is a surreal experience having flashbulbs in your face. I felt rather nervous at first, but then I decided it's like playing a part and you just roll with it. If they only knew I bought my dress for $20 at Ross over a year ago, haha. Love a good bargain, lol.
After the red carpet we mingled, took some candid photos, and chatted with members of the cast of the docu-film "This is War". What a thought provoking show. It was personal footage and photos from soldiers in Iraq. It had everything, heart, courage, and even comedy (talking with the soldiers, you know they tried to stay upbeat despite their circumstances; laughter was their only coping mechanism). They also had an after-party in the tent outside. Very fun. People I saw were Ed McMahon (got to shake his hand and say hello), Olivia Hussey (Juliet in "Romeo & Juliet" 1968 & Mary in "Jesus of Nazareth") chatted and took a pic with Efren Ramirez (Pedro in "Napoleon Dynamite" and also was in "Employee of the Month"). There were more people but too many to list.
This morning I got call from my publicist to tell me my photo was on wireimage.com.(refer to top pic) I had to laugh because that's a site I go to find celebrity photos and now I'm on it, lol. Don't worry, I won't let it go to my head. Anyway, here are a few candid shots and the pic with Efren.
